The idea of black marble pattern has been in my mind for a while now, and I've finally decided to do something about it.

Już od dłuższego czasu chodził mi po głowie pomysł na czarne marmurki i w końcu zdecydowałam się coś z tym zrobić.

Today I'd like to show you one of the greatest things in the nail art world (right next to acrylic paints). I don't know how I could live without it, it's like some kind of a gift from heavens! What am I talking about you ask? I'm talking about my new best friends - Born Pretty Store's protective finger stickers. I find them much more convenient to use than liquid latex. I don't know, maybe I'm just too dumb to use the latex properly, but I always have some trouble with taking it off. Anyway, I had no such problem with the finger stickers. They're super easy to put on your fingers, and they're elastic enough to wrap them perfectly around your nail line. The glue on them is strong enough to really protect your fingers from getting messy while you create your little pieces of art on your nails, but not strong enough to cause you any trouble with removing the stickers. I used them with a traditional water marbling, and they protected my fingers just like they were supposed to, and then came off almost without me helping them. Their only minus is that they come in set of only 10, so you have to be very careful not to accidentaly break any of them (one of mine sticked to itself...).

Neons & water marbling

Today in the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge we're supposed to show our neons manicures. I'm not a big fan of neons, and I don't even own one, but I thought bright coral pink will do just fine =) My pattern code was water marbling, and this time I had absolutely no problems with it, yaay! I think the secret was not the water temperature (it was warm at first, and cold later), but a proper polish - I used white P.S. nail polish... from Primark for the first time, and it turned out to be just perfect for water marbling.

Nie jestem fanką neonowych odcieni, nawet żadnego nie posiadam, ale pomyślałam, że ostry koralowy róż też się sprawdzi =) Moim wzorkiem na ten tydzień był water marbling i tym razem w końcu nie miałam z nim żadnych problemów, yaay! Myślę, że sekretem nie była temperatura wody (na początku była letnia, później zimna), ale odpowiedni lakier - po raz pierwszy użyłam
 lakieru P.S. nail polish... z Primarku i okazało się, że jest wprost idealny do water marblingu.

Płytka jest piękna, a wzory dobrze wygrawerowane, nie miałam żadnych problemów z odbijaniem ich. Uważam jednak, że użycie białego koloru do "ramki" dookoła płytki nie było najlepszym pomysłem - nie mogłam jej doczyścić po tym jak użyłam czarnego lakieru do stempli (widać to na zdjęciach).

The plate is beautiful, and the patterns are very well graved, I had no problems with stamping them. I think using white colour for the "frame" around the plate wasn't the best idea though - I couldn't get it clean again after I used black stamping polish (you can see it on the photos).

Jako bazę do stempli zrobiłam water marble, używając dwóch lakierów, które wcześniej mnie rozczarowały - Salon Perfect 117 Bellini (możecie przeczytać co było z nim nie tak tutaj) i Essence The Gel Nail Polish 13 Forgive me (możecie poczytać o nim tutaj). Chciałam działać na różowawej bazie, ale jako że pamiętałam jak okropnie malowało mi się paznokcie lakierem Essence Forgive Me, nie chciałam znowu go użyć. Wobec tego zdecydowałam się poeksperymentować trochę z metodą water marble, ale bez obaw, że marnuję dobre lakiery - więc te dwa koszmarki w buteleczkach nadały się do tego idealnie. Bardzo się cieszę, że zrobiłam ten eksperyment, bo okazało się, że chociaż te lakiery są okropne kiedy używam ich "normalnie", to świetnie nadają się do water marble!

As a base for the stamping I did water marble using two polishes that disappointed me before - Salon Perfect 117 Bellini (read what was wrong with it here), and Essence The Gel Nail Polish 13 Forgive me (you can read about it here). I wanted a pinkish base but since I remembered how awful it was to paint my nails with Essence Forgive Me, I didn't feel like using it again. So I decided to experiment a little with water marbling, without feeling that I'm wasting some good polishes - so these two little nightmares in bottles were perfect for that. I'm very happy that I made this experiment because it turned out that although these polishes are terrible when I use them "normally", they are great when it comes to water marbling!

Z okazji Walentynek na paznokciach marmuru wycinek

Walentynki są fajną paznokciową inspiracją, chociaż dla mnie malowanie serduszek jest trochę zbyt oczywiste. Zostałam więc przy kolorach, które kojarzą się z tym dniem i postanowiłam po raz kolejny poeksperymentować z techniką water marble, w nadziei, że może tym mi się uda. No i udało się! Co prawda efekt nie jest jeszcze idealny, na razie nie mam wyczucia w tworzeniu wzorów na wodzie, niektóre paznokcie wyszły jaśniejsze od innych, no i przeżyłam lekki szok kiedy zobaczyłam, że chociaż używałam czerwonego lakieru, to moje paznokcie są ostro różowe, ale i tak jestem z siebie dumna, a efekt niesamowicie mi się podoba =)

Valentines Day is a nice inspiration, although for me painting hearts is a little too obvious. So I stayed with the colours that are associated with this day and decided to experiment with water marble one more time, hoping that maybe this time I will succeed. And I did! The effect may not be perfect yet since I didn't know what pattern I wanted to create on water and how, some of my nails are darker than the other ones, plus I was quite shocked when I saw that although I was using a red nail polish, my nails turned out very pink, but I'm proud of myself anyway, and I love the effect =)

Najpierw pomalowałam paznokcie na biało, a do zrobienia water marbe użyłam lakierów Lovely Classic 369 i Lovely NUDE nr 2. Oczywiście nie byłabym sobą gdybym nie dodała do każdego paznokcia kilku małych kropeczek =)

First I painted my nails white, and then created water marble with Lovely Classic 369 and Lovely NUDE nr 2. Of course I wouldn't be myself if I didn't add some small dots to each nail =)

Dzięki Ani z Color Forever odkryłam polską markę lakierów Colour Alike i z miejsca się zakochałam (chyba udzielił mi się walentynkowy nastrój :D) - ładne kolory, przystępna cena, no i te nazwy! To głównie one są źródłem mojego zachwytu. Przeglądając stronę internetową możemy natknąć się na kolekcje "w miastach" (jest łódzka, gdańska, poznańska (!) i krakowska), a w nich takie perełki jak lakier o nazwie "Kamlot" czy "Pyrka", jest też kolekcja o uroczej nazwie "Trele Pastele" czy "Black & Sinner" - ta ostatnia mnie osobiście, jako że jestem wielką fanką gier słownych, po prostu zachwyciła =)

Na razie, zainspirowana recenzją Ani, zdecydowałam się zamówić kolor Cumel z kolekcji krakowskiej i Żar tropików z kolekcji /Q/ All Inclusive, bo ma dokładnie taki kolor, jakiego szukam od niepamiętnych czasów (a przynajmniej tak wynika ze zdjęcia. Jak już wpadnie w moje łapki, to dam Wam znać czy w rzeczywistości też podoba mi się jego odcień).

Tym razem zdradziłam mój Poznań i wybrałam kolekcję krakowską, ale coś czuję, że na dwóch lakierach od Colour Alike się nie skończy i pewnie prędzej czy później Drachetka albo Koziołek będą moje =)


Thanks to Ania from Color Forever I discovered a Polish nail polish brand Colour Alike, and I fell in love with it instantly (I think I'm still in Valentines mood :D) - pretty colours, they're affordable, and the names! SadlyUnfortunately they don't translate the names of their polishes, so you have to believe me that in Polish they're just awesome =)

For now, inspired by Ania's review, I decided to purchase colour 520 from the KRK collection and also a light orange-yellowish one cause I;ve been looking for such colour for ages.
